William Levy was born in Cojimar, Cuba. When he was 14,
he immigrated to Miami, Florida. He went to high school and he learned to speak English. After high school, he studied business administration on a baseball scholarship at St. Thomas University. Eventually, he went to Los Angeles to study acting and continued his acting studies in Miami and Mexico City.
His acting took off when he had a supporting role in Telmundo's "Los Teen," a series about Hispanic teens growing up in the U.S. Before that he had two reality shows also for Telemundo. William also traveled internationally to participate in many runway shows and photo shoots for ad campaigns. His big break came in 2007 when he was personally chosen by Television producer Carla Estrada to play the role of Vasco Darien in "Passion," a novella production set in Mexico's colonial period.
He eventually worked as a model for the agency, Next Models and his career took off in a new direction.
When his soap operas began being shown in the United States, he successfully made a cross over. In November 2009, the actor lent his voice to the animated movie Planet 51 in a Spanish version. And more recently, he stars as Jennifer Lopez's love interest in music video, "I'm Into You," from her album "Love." It was shown on the NBC Today show on May 2, 2011.
And now, the handsome and sexy young man has landed on Dancing with the Stars
. I have not doubt the ladies will be screaming and voting. I don't expect him to be gone very soon. His pro partner is Cheryl Burke.
