The Voice of America Forum
Welcome to the Voice of America Forum! Successful reality show producers Mark Burnett (“Survivor,” NBC’s “The Apprentice”), John de Mol (“Big Brother,” “Fear Factor”) and TV producers at Warner Horizon Television (“The Bachelor” franchise, “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew”) will produce the singing competition show. The series is modeled after the very popular Dutch version of the show, “The Voice of Holland,” which has displaced the Dutch version of “The X Factor” and “American Idol” as the top talent competition show in Holland. The series will feature four celebrity artists, who will form teams of singers that they will coach and mentor throughout the competition.
Individuals will be eliminated until each celebrity only has one team member left who will compete in the finals to be named “The Voice of America” in a live finale. To guarantee that the celebrities pick the best of the best, the series introduces a unique twist – the initial audition process is blind; coaches can only hear the singer but cannot see them. The show’s format will feature three stages of competition. The first begins with the blind audition, then the competition enters into a battle phase, and finally, the live performance shows. “This show truly focuses on amazing voices,” Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios, said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “The celebrity coaches are passionate about discovering, developing and nurturing new talent. As soon as we saw the Dutch format, we knew this was completely different and really exciting.” Viewers will also have a say in determining the competition’s finalists, as they vie for the grand prize of a recording contract. “The Voice of America” is slated to premiere on NBC in Spring 2011

The Voice, Season Two will Premier After the Superbowl
The hit reality singing competition, coached by Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton and hosted by Carson Daly, will premiere its second season after the Super Bowl, NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt confirmed on Monday at NBC’s Television Critics Association Summer Session 2011 in Beverly Hills.
While it had previously been announced that “The Voice” was getting the coveted post-Super Bowl slot, Monday’s confirmation is the first time it has been revealed that that episode will also be the show’s Season 2 premiere.

The Voice is an upcoming American reality television singing competition scheduled to premiere on April 26, 2011 on the television network NBC.The new show is part of the The Voice franchise and is based on a similar competition format in The Netherlands entitled The Voice of Holland.
The show will be hosted by Carson Daly, and Alison Haislip will serve as the backstage and social networking correspondent. The winner will be receiving $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Republic. Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton will serve as coaches.
An NBC network executive has described the series as "a search by relevant artists for relevant artists"
