The Bacheloretete Finale-The Dates, Proposal, Ring, Dress Details - ATFR Filmed with No Audience!

"The Bachelorette" star Ali Fedotowsky will reportedly receive a Neil Lane engagement-ring proposal -- "on bended knee" -- from one of her two final suitors on the show's Aug. 2 season finale, a source tells StyeList.

But will the unlucky-in-love Massachusetts beauty give her chosen one a fashionable yes?

While you'll have to tune in to see the outcome, we do have the scoop on what the pretty blonde will be wearing as the drama unfolds: Fedotowsky was outfitted for her Bora Bora proposal scenes in a shimmering champagne-colored, silk-chiffon customized Alberto Makali gown, selected for her by the show's resident stylist, Cary Fetman.

The gown, which originally had straps, was altered to suit the reality star's desire for a strapless look that was "soft and flowing," according to sources familiar with her choice.

Some of the original version's crystal beading was removed from along the bustline for a more subtle effect.

"She wanted to look glamorous but also be relaxed and comfortable," one source revealed to StyleList.

After considering several options, Fedotowsky chose the Makali gown because it suited her vision of how she wanted to look for a possible proposal, the source adds. "It really was her dream dress and she had no regrets." (About the dress, anyway!)

As for the ring, which will be center stage at the "most dramatic final-rose ceremony, ever," jeweler to the stars Neil Lane once again assumes his role as the show's go-to bling bearer.
 
Ali introduces both Chris -- whose relationship with Ali grew slowly -- and Roberto -- who was hot and heavy with Ali from the beginning, having won the First Impression rose on night one -- to her family in Bora Bora.

 

When Ali's family finds out that Chris L. is from Massachusetts, he is an immediate hit. They, like Ali, are taken by his devotion to his family. Then, in an old-fashioned, but time-honored tradition, he asks Ali's dad for her hand.

 

Ali's two dates are a contrast, just as her relationship with the two men differs. Her time with Roberto is spent jet skiing, swimming and picnicking. But her date with Chris L. is emotional and takes a surprising turn.


But fans of this reality franchise-turned soap opera know designer gowns and celebrity-style engagement rings rarely mean happy endings (shout-out to Jake Pavelka), so we're expecting some inevitable drama surrounding Fedotowskys designer-clad romantic conclusion.

"It's a great finale, terrific really, and not like any we've had on the show," a source familiar with the ABC show tells StyleList. "There are a lot of twists and turns, and it will be really really interesting for viewers to see how it turns out."

Will the ring be presented to "The Bachelorette" by her most valuable player -- the refined baseball-ace turned salesman Roberto Martinez? He is, after all, the man who had her at "hello."

Or will Fedotowsky surprise viewers by choosing rugged and witty landscaper Chris Lambton as her final-rose recipient? (A sweet, but unlikely scenario, according to "The Bachelorette" rumor mill and our sources.)

No word yet on whether both Martinez and Lambton met with Lane to choose engagement rings for Fedotowsky or if only one of the final two contemplated a proposal.

The finale comes as a variety of intriguing rumors circulate about Fedotowsky's choices. Normally spot-on "Bachelorette" blogger Reality Steve has been reporting for weeks that Fedotowsky ends the season single, while Us Weekly has done two cover stories that suggest she's engaged to Martinez and planning a 2011 wedding. And now tabloids have begun hinting that she's hooked up with pro football player Matt Leinart. (Our source shot that rumor down with an emphatic "No!")

StyleList has learned that ABC closed the set for the recent filming of its post-production "After the Final Rose" special, where Fedotowsky met with Martinez, Lambton, and another finalist, Frank Neuschaefer, to discuss the season's outcome.

Neuschaefer, who at times seemed to be Fedotowsky's favorite, dumped her during filming to rekindle a relationship with an old girlfriend in his native Chicago.

The "ATFR" show has been filmed without a studio audience only one other time: When former "Bachelor" Jason Mesnick dumped his chosen one, Melissa Rycroft, for runner up Molly Malaney. Hmm.

Interesting and I haven't been able to decide which I'd like her with best because I really like both Chris and Roberto. Guess I'll have to just stay tuned for Monday and see how it all plays out.

That IS an interesting turn of events about the no audience thing. Either something really traumatic happens or ABC is trying to eliminate any possibility of leaks.

I hope it is because no leaks, because I sure hope it isn't her and Frank getting together.. that would be the worst scenario possible, still don't know why she was so attracted to him in the first place.

He has a certain charm. Loved what he did the first night with his entrance. Still though, she gave Roberto the 1st Impression Rose. I think he heart is there and has been since the beginning.

I think she does choose Chris. I think the rest is media hype because Roberto is so 'hot' and exciting compared to Chris who is solid and not as "Hollywood". This is just my thought and may be totally off.

I don't care which guy she chooses as long as it isn't Frank who is back - having made a 'mistake please forgive me'.

If she's smart, she won't pick any of them. Out of ALL of the men in the world that could be a better match for Ali {one she picked for herself in the real world} how could you seriously think she met her PERFECT match out of 25 men on television??? It's almost like saying, "ok...I'm not getting any younger and I haven't found the right guy yet so...looks like this is my last chance" What is she....31? She's got time to find the right guy. I'm just sayin'....

As to Ali's choice, she made it clear to Chris and Roberto, they weren't there by defaultt since Frank left on the Fantasy Dates. But what if the guys were thinking all along they didn't have to worry about proposing since she's going to choose Frank in the end. Then he leaves and it's "Oh My, she might actually pick me, so do I want to propose? That's alot to think about in few days, wouldn't you agree? Although they could think "Okay Frank left but he could realize he made a mistake, after all Ali left Jake and turned right around and wanted to come back. Reid was rejected by Jillian and he came back in the 11th hour for a last chance proposal". So each of the guys could be thinking, she's not going to choose me and so let's just enjoy this time and the Final Moment comes and Ali is there saying "I choose you" and they realize there's no escape, "This is it". This could make for some tense moments, wouldn't you agree? It's not to say Ali might not get engaged, just that I don't think the reality of this process sets in until the final days and they realize they will be faced with a decision they will have to live with and that's alot of stress

Great point Maureen. I can certainly understand how they might feel that way. But let us also
remember, the previews we are seeing are what the producers want us to see, to throw us off.
And, as you say, the remarks the man made could be simply as you suggest, not that neither
one wants to propose, just hit with reality!!!

I am puzzled why Ali was so attracted to Frank. His personality and looks didn't do a thing for me, and as for Ali she fell for his personality and looks the first time she set eyes on him. Oh well It would be a strange world if everyone felt the same way! Note: Stay in Chicago FRANK!

I just watched the Men Tell All episode because I was away, but I noticed in the preview for the Finale, Kirk is actually in there for a little over a second. It's the date when they are at the castle, and Ali is stressed and overwhelmed about her choice coming up before hometowns. The shot is when they are wrapped up in a blanket together on the balcony. If I am wrong, terribly sorry, but I'm pretty sure it is him.
Then again, maybe they meant to put it in there to throw us off.

I think Chris is going to tell Ali he wants to leave because he isn't in love with her.
