Jillian first appeared on Jason Mesnick's Season 13 of "The Bachelor." She is from Canada and has a degree in Interior Design from British Columbia Institute of Technology.
She ended up being the second runner-up. She certainly got Jason's attention when she created a new way to get information about a guy. Her theory was that you can learn much about a man from the condiments he puts on his hot dog. She put him to the test and certainly got his attention. She made it to New Zealand as one of the final three. There was a very steamy hot tub scene, but Jason was not sure if their chemistry would last over time. She was sent home.
She next popped up as "The Bachelorette," and we all hoped that she would find love this time. She had some interesting men to choose from. One was Jake Pavelka, who after not being chosen, became the next bachelor. Wes Hayden was a Country Western Singer but not well known yet. He made certain to compose several songs for Jillian. Many of the men and fans felt he was just doing his time to get publicity for himself and his band.
And then there was Ed Swiderski. Ed left earlier in the show, causing Jillian heartache. He stated that there was a problem with his job. When he returned, all were suspicious.
And then there was Reid Rosenthal. He fell madly in love and when rejected, made a last ditch pitch during the finale for her hand.
Jillian choose Ed and He Proposed
From the beginning rumors started. It was stated that he had been texting women during the show. After the engagement, "Us Weekly" stated that Jillian was betrayed 8 days after her engagement. Several women came forward. Ed's take on it was, "“It’s actually not true at all. Jillian and I have been the target of being one of the very few successful couples on the show. We’re clearly being targeted because we’re happy.”
Jillian moved to Chicago, Ed's home, and they tired living together. She moved back to Calgary and eventually she ended the relationship after about 18 months.
But Jillian certainly got back on her feet. She was offered a position with "Extreme Makeover" Home Edition. She was able to share her personality and her design skills to create rooms to reflect the character and needs of each family.
She keeps busy with travel between the U.S. and Canada to run her firm, Jillian Harris Design. She enjoys time with her family, shopping with friends, and cooking some of her favorites recipes from her family. She is also dedicated to charities, including Big Brothers.
