Dancing with the Stars 13:Recap: There Were Two Perfect Scores - Some Excelled - And Will the Right One Go Home?

 

 
Rob and Cheryl
  
Dance: Quickstep
Song: "Take on Me" an 80's tune
Score: 27
 
During practice, Cheryl reminded Rob to "Stick your Bum in."
 
Len: Len said, "The opening section was horrible, but when you got over it, it changed." He liked his hold and he commented that he kept his buttocks in.  He felt it is his best dance.
Bruno: "You were speedier than a drag race."  He felt his frame was very good and he had great footwork.
Carrie Ann: Carrie Ann commented that he is the perfect contestant, he has grown so very much. She described him as a polished dancer and he was very light on his feet.
SereneLdy: I loved his dance and he really seemed to be enjoying himself. He has been under the shadow of his sisters, but here, he is making a name for himself.
Score: 27
 
Instant Jive: They picked the music, "Maneater" from Hall and Oates."
 
Rob started the dance by shaking his booty while standing on top of the judges table. Great move! They have made so many comments about it, now he gave them a good look! I found the dance fun and entertaining.
 
Len: "There were no glaring mistakes but you can sharpen up your feet."
Bruno: He thought he did a great job and kept up the pace. He also felt his arms looked much better.
Carrie Ann: She was impressed by the "seamlessness of the transitions." But she mentioned he does need to point his toes a bit more.
Score: 24

Hope and Maks
Dance: Quick Step
Song: "Valerie"
 
They worked hard this week and had a bit of a breakthrough. They both realized that the past 7 weeks have been intense. They have agreed to try a softer approach and it seemed to work. They really had fun!
 
Bruno: He thought Hope was bright and re energized  and that this was her best dance.
Carrie Ann: "That was so amazing, you two were so in sync." She volunteers that she wishes she could give Hope a big hug as she enjoyed it so much.
Len: He agrees that this is her best dance so far. He felt she had a nice blend of speed and control and she kept up with Maks. "You lived up to your potential."
SereneLdy: The two seemed to really enjoy themselves and I loved seeing them more relaxed. Hope greatly improved.
 
Instant Jive:
  
Song: "The Best Damn Thing" from Avril Lavigne. (SereneLdy never heard of this song.)  It was a very fast paced piece of music and I wondered if Hope would keep up, but keep up she did.
 
Bruno: He thought Hope was like a "wild child" out there and she needs to finish her moves. He felt her attitude and energy were good.
Carrie Ann: She saw great improvement from the last time she did the jive. but she felt her hands were a little odd throughout.
Len: He was disappointed in what the other judges said. He thought it was "bloody brilliant."
Score: 25

Ricki & Derek
 
Dance: Waltz
Song: "You Make Me Feel Like a Natural woman"
Carrie Ann: She pointed out that she saw a little stumble at the end, but their movements were exquisite. "Your movement is strong and you lose yourself in dance." She felt it was beautiful to watch.
Len: He thought it was "beautifully executed"   but she needs to nail her footwork before he can give her a "10."
Bruno: He thought it was "deliciously dreamy." She had so much artistic detail.
SereneLdy: It was beautiful to watch and I did notice the stumble, but I enjoyed it very much.
Score: 28
 
Instant Jive
  
Song: "Land of a Thousand Dances"
Carrie Ann: She thought the energy was great  but felt she got lot a few times.
Len: He thought there were a few stops but she got back to it quickly.
Bruno: He felt some sections of the dance did not flow together as well as they could have.
SereneLdy: I enjoyed the dance but it was not up to par. Anyone can have an off evening and she has done
so well. I am sure her injury is not helping.
Score: 24

Nancy & Tristan
  
Nancy mentioned that she knows she is the underdog but she is not going to give up. She is going to come out fighting.
Dance: Tango
Song: "The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane."
Len:  He feels that after being on a plateau for many weeks, and this dance was not for her.
Carrie Ann: She loves her spirit but she had some minor faults.
Bruno: He loved Nancy's attitude.
SereneLdy: It is time for her to go. She has given her best but at this point, everyone else is so much better than she is.
Score: 24
 
Instant Jive:
  
Song: "Upside Down"
Len: Said that her "Cinderella Story" should come to an end after this dance.
Bruno: He thought the dance was "a little too laid back."
Carrie Ann: Thought she lost it too often, but she loves the way Nancy trust Tristan to lead her.
SereneLdy: At this time I see her only embarrassing herself. I respect her very much but as a dancer, it's time to go.
 
J.R. & Karina
 
Dance: Waltz
Song: "What the World Needs Now is Love"
 
After falling down from the leader board last week, he surely redeemed himself. He and Karina wowed the crowd with a beautiful routine.
Bruno: He thought it was a, "Musical Valentine's Day Card." He felt the two dancers were so in tune with one another.
Carrie Ann: She was choked up as she stated that she felt the whole room was "Caught up in the Magic of the Dance."  "You brought us all into the dance."
Len: "You came back this week with guns blazing."
SereneLdy: His lines and frame were so beautiful and he and Karina just look so wonderful together.
Score: 30
 
Instant Jive:
 
Song: "Tutti Frutti" by Little Richard
 
The crowd went wild after this dance.
 
Bruno: He felt is was sensational and his timing was impeccable. "You've got it man!"
Carrie Ann: "You are in a class of your own tonight."
Len: "You combined the X Factor and the feel good factor to come up with a brilliant dance."
SereneLdy: Fantastic. Len was not happy with their first Jive and felt it was more of a Lindy Hop. So, he and Karina were determined to deliver a real jive. And boy, did they ever! I loved it.
Score: 30
