Do you remember Ames Brown? Of course you do. He was the polite, charming, gentleman during Ashley's
Bachelorette season. He worked his way into our hearts and continued to do so during
The Bachelor Pad 2.
He and
Jackie Gordon became friends and then she was eliminated early on. As her limo was leaving the mansion, he ran after it and jumped in. They dated for several months before they both went in different directions.
He turned out to be the most academically credentialed Bachelor contestant ever. He has three Ivy League degrees and by now, may have completed his doctorate from Harvard. He is also a ultramarathon runner (62) miles. He works out with a trainer six times a week. Wait until you see his body. Very nice.
When he met him, he was a 31 year old portfolio manager from New York, New York.He once stated that his most embarrassing moment was when a teacher walked in on him while he was hooking up in boarding school. He loves to wear tuxedos and can tie a bow tie perfectly while blindfolded.
In his journey with Ashley, he made it through the hometown dates and was eliminated afterwards. During an interview after he went home he stated that he was beginning to fall in love with Ashley, thinking of her as his girlfriend. During the home town date he took her on a lovely picnic.
He was really embarrassed when he did not get a rose, stating:
"Oh my God, we've been through so much, she's met my family, everything is great, we had an amazing kiss and amazing conversation and I think next week will make an engagement possible'. I thought of course I'd be around next week. It was awful."
While watching the hometown dates, he realized that his progress with
Ashley Hebert was slower than with the other men. He explains that he was trying to take it slower and wanted it to last forever, stating:
"She is the kind of person I really wanted to make something lasting with so I didn't want to rush it at all and I enjoyed taking it slowly."
With what he is looking for in a woman, he had this to say:
"Something I learned on the show and expressed on the show is that there isn't a list of attributes for me. It's more the feeling you get when you're spending time with the person. I think emotions are a good judge. I just want the feeling that I'm in love, not necessarily a checklist or resume. Ashley did give me that feeling and I hope to feel that again."
Would he make a good
bachelor someday? Who knows. I would think he can find plenty of women on his own, but he is certainly a wonderful gentleman.
