American Idol: Scotty McCreery to Join Justin Bieber at CMT Awards
It really didn't take long for Scotty McCreery to land one of his first major TV gigs in the country music industry following his time on "American Idol." According to a new report (which you can see in the video to the left), the recently-crowned season ten champ will be one of the presenters at the CMT Awards next Wednesday in Nashville -- and he will even be joined by runner-up Lauren Alaina.
You can definitely say that the awards show is gearing up to have a much younger audience this year, as Justin Bieber is also set to be present (and is even nominated for an award for his Rascal Flatts collaboration on "That Should Be Me"). While some people may look at these bookings as stunts to boost viewership, it's also a smart business move -- you want your hot commodities out there in front of the industry, and advertisers want viewers tuning in aged 18 to 49.
McCreery and Alaina will both be part of the "American Idol" tour later this summer, so stay tuned as always for more news on that.
