American Idol: Another Shocker? Casey Abrams Is Sent Home
One of our Idols must go home today, what has America decided? Ryan warns us from the outset that people are going to be upset about the results.
The Top 6 perform a medley of Carol King songs. Crystal Bowersox, last season’s runne, is the first guest performer of the night.
Finally we get to the results part of the show. Ryan calls the contestants up randomly, starting with Haley Reinhart. Not in the bottom 3 this week.
Scotty McCreery Rather than tell Scotty his result, he tells him to hang on, which sounds like he is not safe.
Lauren Alaina SereneLdy had felt she might be in the bottom three again. Lauren is asked to hang on as well.
Casey Abrams had an interesting night on Wednesday. On the one hand, he was totally in his element, on the other it was the kind of thing that I am not sure people will get. Iovine warns Casey that “the family dog does not vote on this show” and he should stop growling. We will be waiting on his result as well.
James Durbin James is sent back to the couches to relax for the rest of the night.
Jacob Lusk SereneLdy had felt he might be in the bottom 3. Instead of sending him back to the couches, the others who have been left waiting are called back.
After the nationwide vote, Lauren is safe, leaving Scotty, Casey, and Jacob waiting to hear about their future.
But first, Bruno Mars performs “The Lazy Song”. He sounds great, as always. Jacob is safe.
It’s down to Casey and Scotty. And the person who is leaving us tonight is…Casey Abrams.
I’m not entirely surprised but I’m certainly not satisfied with the results. For his swan song, Casey sings “I Put A Spell On You” and instead of the usual tearful goodbye, Casey opts to let loose. He hugs and kisses the audience at random, jumps on his fellow contestants, rolls around the stage a bit, gives Haley a bit of a last minute serenade.
Jennifer is crying and I am certain many others are too. I thought he would be around a bit longer, but I guess not everyone gets his style. I shall miss him.
