Zac Sunderland, 19, and his father, Laurence Sunderland, 48, will appear on the TV show "The Amazing Race,"
Laurence Sunderland said they were approached to be contestants on the show once before but that because he never watches TV, he didn't know what it was. Only after the producers sent him a DVD of the show did he agree to it.
The two did well on the show, but Laurence Sunderland declined to say where they went or how they finished because the series hasn't yet aired. The 3 weeks of shooting were fun but physically demanding, he said.
Although the producers try to push people to their limits so confrontations ensue, Laurence Sunderland said he and his son had a blast.
Zac Sunderland made headlines in 2009 when at 17 he became the youngest person to sail solo around the world.
